Save the date: Roof Top Tent Rally 2024!

 
We've been collaborating with the James River State Park to host the Roof Top Tent Rally in Gladstone, Virginia for seven years now. This time around will be our 8th year!

Mark your calendar for October 18-20, 2024 for this family friendly weekend perfect for anyone into overlanding, camping, vanlife, and outdoor adventure. With a mix of live music, local brews, overlanding and wilderness workshops, great gear, kids activities, community building, and more, this is a relaxing weekend with lots to choose from:

1. PERMISSION TO WANDER
   This is a smaller event with a 250 vehicle limit. But the park itself is literally 1440 acres. While the camping area will be in a defined area there is plenty of room to explore, hike, kayak, and more.
   
   
2. FISHING AND MORE
   If you love fishing, kayaking, and canoeing, this is the place for you. James River State Park is known for its amazing views and easy access to the James River. The 1440-acre park is one of the newest in the state of Virginia and boasts three miles of river frontage. It is also home to three fishing ponds: Green Hill Pond (2 acres), Branch Pond (5 acres), and Taylor Pond (1 acre). Virginia fishing regulations apply.
   
   
3. ROOF TOP TENT: NOT REQUIRED!
   This event may be called the Roof Top Tent Rally, but you actually don't have to own a roof top tent to attend. Ground tents and off-road trailers (under 20ft.) are welcome. RVs and freestanding campers are not permitted at this event.
   
   
4. WORKSHOPS AND GREAT GEAR
   The Roof Top Tent Rally is a great venue for picking up some new off-road, overlanding, and wilderness preparedness skills. Typical workshops include: wilderness medical, overland nagivation, off-road recovery, and more. Pick and choose what you want to learn - or skip the classes altogether and enjoy hiking trails and fishing ponds, or just hang out with other adventure lovers.
   
   Also, Blue Ridge Overland Gear will be there along with a number of other overlanding and outdoor gear companies. This is a great chance to ask questions and learning more about some great products that will make your overland travel better and more enjoyable.
   
   
5. BUILD COMMUNITY
   If you love overlanding, camping, adventure travel, and the outdoor lifestyle, this is a great event for meeting people of like mind. Smaller events like this make building community much easier. Find new life-long friends or hang out with fellow travelers who are already friends.
   
   
6. LIVE MUSIC & LOCAL BREWS
   Live music has been a part of the Roof Top Tent Rally from the start. Kick back, relax and soak up the good vibes in the Great Outdoors. And while you're at it, grab a few brews from one of the local breweries that are on site each year.
   
   
7. FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
   We strive to make the Roof Top Tent Rally a great event that offers fun for all ages - including kids activities, challenges, hiking trails, playgrounds, and more. And if you have a fur baby (dog) they can come too, as long as they stay leashed at all times.
   
   
8. WIN PRIZES
   If you like winning gear you may appreciate the multiple raffles and door prizes that pop up through-out the event.
   
   
9. WE WANT TO MEET YOU!
