Land Rover LR3 Storage and Organization

Organizing the Adventure: Storage Solutions for Our LR3 Build

When you’re hitting the road (or the trail), organized gear and efficient storage are everything. In the latest episode of our LR3 build series, we exploted some smart storage options. As any seasoned overlander knows, a well-organized rig makes every trip smoother, safer, and way more fun!

Making the Most of Available Space

While the Land Rover LR3 isn’t short on storage space, it takes a little creativity to make it road-ready. We teamed up with BROG gear to trick out the interior and squeeze every bit of usefulness from the cargo area.

Seatbacks & Headrests: The Unsung Heroes

Our organization game starts right behind the front seats. In this build, the driver’s side is loaded with all the work stuff—camera gear, tech, and essentials. The passenger side? That’s the party zone! We’ve fitted it with snacks, sunscreen, and camp must-haves.We also added headrest pouches, including a first aid kit right behind the driver’s seat. Because you never know when you’ll need a band-aid, a bug bite fix, or—ahem—Goody’s Hangover Powder.

And that flimsy plastic trash bin? Gone! We swapped it out for a well-mounted trash bag that stays put and keeps contents secure, even during hard braking. Game. Changer.

Visor Panels | Storage with a Side of Fix-It

Our sun visors are doing double duty—holding small essentials and helping support our slightly sagging headliner. Functional and stylish? We’ll take the win!

The Surprise MVP: A Land Cruiser Roof Attic?!

Now here’s where things got exciting. We discovered that the BROG roof attic for a Land Cruiser fits the LR3 perfectly. It hooks onto the grab handles and gives us a whole new level of overhead storage for jackets, sleeping bags, and pillows. And the best part? It doesn’t even block the sunroof. Who knew?!

Door Pockets with an Upgrade

The LR3’s giant door pockets got a little glow-up with some added pouches. Now everything from flashlights to trail mix has its own spot! And of course, we’ve got a trusty tote labeled “Land Rover Problems” for all the tools and parts we need for those inevitable roadside fixes.

What’s Next?

Coming up: we're building a custom sleep platform to turn our LR3 into a full-blown adventure vehicle. With our storage solutions dialed in, we’re laying the groundwork for cozy nights under the stars.
