Why We Use X-Pac Fabric

Dec 7, 2023by Jason F

Here at Blue Ridge Overland Gear, we are always looking for ways to improve the durability and quality of everything we make. Afterall, that's why we offer a better warranty on our products - we are building better products that are meant to last a lifetime.

INNOVATING FORWARD: TRIPLE RUN & BEYOND

Since the release of our Triple Run line we have been innovating with upgraded manufacturing processes, new rugged fabrics, and more modular features that allow our products to work as an even tighter system for organizing your gear.

We continue this trend of innovating by exploring a new class of premium, high-performance technical fabrics. With the release of our Bum Bag XL we are introducing X-Pac fabrics by Dimension-Polyant into our ongoing design process and plan on incorporating it into many other products as well.

WHY WE ARE ADDING X-PAC FABRICS TO OUR LINE-UP

As a company Dimension-Polyant is known for being a pioneer in the world of manufacturing advanced sailcloth. Their creation of X-Pac took them beyond the sailing world and has set a high bar for technical fabrics used in the outdoor bag, and pack industry.

Because we build bags and gear organizers to be as durable as possible we do not often look into new materials. The Cordura nylon, truck tarp, and other materials we use have established our standard for long-lasting durability and unrelenting quality. But X-Pac has more than met that standard.

X-PAC FABRIC'S MANY BENEFITS

With X-Pac we are also adding a new set of capabilities without sacrificing durability. Besides being a technical, premium material it is also: waterproof, eco-friendly, and carbon neutral thanks to Dimension-Polyant's commitment to not just a new level of quality production - but doing so with a higher environmental ethic. Sounds like a win, win.
